The Post that Won the Contest...

Good Morninggggggg Friends, Family, Fellow Bearcats and Whoever Else is reading this!!! My name is Kirsty, I’m a third year student at the University of Cincinnati and I was chosen for this amazing opportunity to “Journal my Journey” of weight loss. I know this weight loss challenge is not going to be easy for me at first (or maybe even at all), but nevertheless I’m incredibly excited to start this journey. With the occasional kick in the behind from a trainer, I am going to shed as much blood, sweat and tears as necessary to accomplish this dream of mine. This is going to be a life changing experience for me, the new Kirsty has been born, and I am so excited that I get to share this journey with you guys too! My goal here is to not only transform my body into one that I love and feel comfortable in, but to also encourage YOU to get your butt up off of your couch, bed, desk chair, etc. put them running shoes on, and go to the rec-center, local gym or high school running track or bike trail, heck, even to turn on “Flirty Girl Fitness” or Richard Simmons’ “sweatin’ for life”, and become a more active person. I want to encourage you to set weight loss goals of your own, and I want to do whatever I can, to help you accomplish them too. My best friend works at a gym and has a body that is to die for, and my boyfriend is a weight lifting junkie whose muscles look like they’re about to explode at any moment; they both loveeee going to the gym and working out. How anybody can love huffing and puffing and sweating their butt off while running on an inclined treadmill, or lifting super heavy objects, is absolutely (currently) beyond me (you and I together are going to fall in love too). You see, I am a girl that doesn’t like to get sweaty in front of people, or even go to the gym period. I am also a girl that loves to eat good food and drink good drinks. Those two qualities combined is the reason that I, along with millions of other people in America, am overweight. I am a person that (like many of you) have tried just about every latest fad diet and weight loss pill under the sun to no avail. I don’t feel comfortable in my own body, I envy girls that can wear whatever clothes they want and look great in them, I miss out on lots of fun things especially in the summer because I don’t want people to see me in a bathing suit, and I haven’t had great sex in ages because I am so conscious of the way my body looks. I just know that many of you can relate. What I hope to do is share with you not only my struggles, complaints, successes and words of encouragement, but new ideas, new exercises, and a partner to do this with. So this folks, is why I have been chosen to share the next six months of my life with you. I know that together we can do this and that six months from now you will wish that you had started with me today.
